| Description | January is the perfect time for star gazing. Join Kristen Mattson and Marie McClune for an evening of star gazing and a tour of the night sky. After a brief introduction inside, we will venture outside. Using Orion as our guide, we will locate the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, and learn how to "star hop" to locate other constellations in the Winter Hexagon, including the brightest star in the sky, Sirius. We will focus on the constellations Taurus, Canus Major, Canus Minor, Gemini, and Auriga among others. The cold, dry air of winter offers the best viewing opportunities. Reservations are required at $12.00 per person. Please bring a flashlight and binoculars for the field portion of the evening. |
Online registration is closed. Please call 843-689-6767 ext 223 for openings.
