| Description | An Exhibition presented by Federal Aviation Administration, Beaufort County and South Carolina Aeronautics Commission. Finding Freedom's Home - Archaelogy at Mitchelville will be on display in the Sea Island Room until December 31, 2014. In early 2013 achaeologists investigated a portion of historic Mitchelville that will be affected by expansion of the Hilton Head Island Airport runway. The results of the investigations and objects recovered during the excavations are on display. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am until 4:30 pm and Sunday from 11 am until 3 pm. |
