Description The Sweetgrass Basket is one of the best known art-forms in the South Carolina Lowcountry. This traveling exhibit, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities on the Road, focuses upon the African origins of this art form and the Gullah people who make baskets today. Historic baskets and modern ones are acompanied by historic images and information about the history of basket making in this region. The Hilton Head Regional Healthcare Temporary Exhibit Gallery in the Discovery House of the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn is open Monday through Saturday 9 am to 4:30 pm and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.
